Empowering Fathers in Howard County
The Tau Pi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. proudly launches its inaugural Fatherhood Initiative (FI) in Howard County, Maryland—an extension of the international program within the Fraternity’s 2nd District. This initiative is rooted in the belief that strong, engaged fathers are essential to thriving families and resilient communities.
Tau Pi is committed to raising awareness about the importance of fatherhood and celebrating the men who play a vital role in their children’s lives. Through advocacy, mentorship, and community engagement, the program empowers fathers of all backgrounds—regardless of race, age, or economic status—to embrace their responsibilities and grow into confident, capable parents.
Taking a holistic approach, Tau Pi will collaborate with local organizations, schools, and social service agencies to provide wraparound support for fathers in Howard County. The initiative also seeks to uplift and support brothers within Omega Psi Phi, especially those navigating fatherhood themselves.
By working in tandem with other mandated program committees, Tau Pi offers a comprehensive view of the services and resources fathers need—from emotional support and parenting education to financial literacy and community connection. The committee is dedicated to engaging fathers not just as caregivers, but as leaders, role models, and pillars of strength within their families and neighborhoods.
